    La Fortuna
Set along the skirts of the towering Arenal Volcano, La Fortuna has become one of the major tourism destinations of Costa Rica. Lake Arenal
The majestic Lake Arenal near the volcano is the largest in Costa Rica. It was enlarged to 3 times its original size for the production of hydroelectric power, today producing nearly 70% of all of Costa Rica’s electricity. The Lake also offers many activities, among them, windsurfing, fishing, boat tours, kayaking; and along the shore horseback riding and mountain biking.
