Reel in the big one on a private, all-day deep sea fishing trip aboard your very own 25-foot boat and discover why Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo is a top spot for sport fishing in Mexico. These waters are home to many international fishing competitions, with marlin weighing up to 700 pounds, yellowfin tuna weighing up to 300 pounds and 100-pound wahoo.
Board your own boat and head out to sea
Start an early day of fishing at the main pier of Zihuatanejo Bay, while local fishermen bring in the catch of the night to sell it in the market. Get on board the 25-foot Panga boat with your expert captain to start your adventure. These small boats only accommodate four people for an intimate trip with just your friends. You'll have two fishing chairs and two benches, as well as a roof for shade. Aboard your Panga, your captain jets off into Zihuatanejo Bay and beyond to tried-and-true fishing spots.
Get your own trophy-worthy catches!
The waters of Zihuatanejo are filled with grouper, wahoo, roosterfish, mahi-mahi, Spanish mackerel and barracuda. Farther out to sea, you will find yellowfin tuna, sailfish, striped marlin, blue marlin, sierras and dorado. Ixtapa is known for international fishing tournaments and sailfish, with catches as big as 300 to 500 pounds. Sailfish are found year-round, with blue marlin available in the spring through summer, striped marlin in the spring, and yellowfin tuna in the winter. Your captain understands fishing and will help ensure you've made the big catch!
