About Bob Marley & Dunns River Falls

Drive along the northern Jamaican coast and into the jungle interior to Nine Mile, a quaint village in the mountains of St. Ann. This tour of Nine Mile is a family affair, as many of Bob Marley’s close relatives still live in the village where he grew up. You’ll get to visit the house Bob Marley lived in and learn about how his childhood lead to his wildly successful musical career.

On this Bob Marley and Dunn’s River Falls Tour, not only will you get to visit Nine Mile, the birth and final resting place of reggae superstar Bob Marley, but you will also get to discover the beauty of Dunn’s River Falls. This is a perfect way to visit two of Jamaica’s most iconic places in one day.

Learn about Bob Marley, the reggae legend

As you journey through the small market towns, you will spot the hills that lead toward Nine Mile, in the parish of St. Ann’s, to visit the birthplace of the undisputed King of Reggae.

At Nine Mile, you will hear the story of Bob Marley’s childhood and rise to stardom, taking in where he was brought up, as well as the mausoleum where his body was laid to rest, along with his guitar. Also see if you can spot the Rasta-colored ‘rock pillow’ where Marley laid his head when searching for inspiration. Who knows, maybe you will have your own epiphany?

There are lots of lovely tributes to Marley around the village, from street art to statues, making sure the memory of a musical hero is kept alive.
More reggae and a cool drink

While your guide takes you around the site, you will come across a reggae show that takes you back to the times when Marley himself was playing his music. This show happens at a small but interesting museum devoted to the reggae legend’s career.

To top it all off, you can enjoy a refreshing drink at the bar while the contagious reggae beats are playing in the background.

Head to the refreshing and stunning Dunn’s River Falls

Once you have paid your tributes soaked up as much history as you can, it’s time to discover another St. Ann’s legend. Travelling back down through the Jamaican hills, you will reach one of the most beautiful attractions of the island — Dunn’s River Falls. These awesome waterfalls stand at 600 feet high, cascading a huge amount of water down the rock-side.

This adventure will get you as up close and personal with nature as possible. With the help of your guide, you will be able to expertly climb up these amazing falls. It’s a real-life masterpiece.

Where else could you get a taste of chilled music, a slice of natural beauty and the chance to pay respects to a musical maestro, all in one day?

And top it off, you’ll also get to enjoy a local jerk barbeque lunch!
