Zihuatanejo experiences a humid savanna climate. From July to September (warm season) the temperatures average a high within the 90s and low in the mid-70s. During the months of January to April (cold season) the weather fluctuates between a high in the 80s and a low in the mid-60s.

Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo International Airport is the town’s main doorway to the rest of the world. From the town’s bay you can travel to Ixtapa via water taxi or a panga (small boat). If you choose to navigate on land there are several public buses providing transportation through Zihuatanejo’s landscape as well as its neighboring cities. Taxis are also very accessible and you are expected to negotiate prices before beginning your trip. However, to experience Zihuatanejo‘s true authenticity you definitely should leave your footprints in the sand and take a leisurely stroll along its quaint cobblestone.
