The beautiful Riu Palace Riviera Maya is RIU's latest addition to the RIU complex in Playa del Carmen. As a guest of the Riu Palace Riviera Maya, you may take advantage of RIU's generous exchange privileges and enjoy the facilities, restaurants, bars, shows and entertainment at the five other RIU properties adjacent to the resort. Within walking distance or a 5 minute cab ride you will find the charming and eclectic town of Playa del Carmen. Explore the shops on the famous Fifth Avenue, experience the nightlife, or catch a ferry for a day trip to Cozumel from this trendy port town, the true hub of the Mayan corridor.

Your dining, entertainment and bar offerings are greatly expanded when you take advantage of these privileges. In keeping with the exclusivity of the Riu Palace Riviera Maya, guests of the other properties are not allowed exchange privileges with this hotel (with the exception of the Riu Palace Mexico).

The Riu Palace Riviera Maya Resort offers sumptuous buffet-style dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a choice of indoor, air-conditioned or outdoor terrace dining. Elaborate buffets offer a wide variety of choices with show cooking stations. International à la carte dining venues are available for lunch and dinner. Outdoor bars offer snacks throughout the day along with your favorite beverages. Live shows and special themes are presented six days a week. Continental breakfast room service is available every morning until 11 am.

This is the hotels main restaurant, offering elaborate buffets with show cooking stations for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

One of two poolside restaurants here, Chilis is the grill and steakhouse.
Open daily for lunch and dinner, featuring both buffets and spot cooking stations. In the evening, Chilis is the à la carte steakhouse of the resort. Dine with a beautiful poolside ambiance.

Authentic Brazilian churrascaria with goucho waiter service! In true Brazilian style, the 'goucho's' slice grilled specialty meats right onto your plate from fire-seared spears taken straight off the open grill. A very elaborate Brazilian style salad bar accompanies your meat selections.

In addition to a palm shaded white-sand beach and two spectacular pools with multi-level sunning decks, resort activities include workouts around the pool, a floodlit hard surface tennis court, beach volleyball, table tennis tournaments, introductory scuba diving lessons and daily entertainment programs for adults and children. A variety of water sports is available on the beach, and windsurfing, catamarans, kayaks, body boards and snorkeling equipment are included for all guests.

Important Information
- Additional services including additional decorations, floral arrangements, food and beverages and live music can be added; prices vary.
- The bride and groom and witnesses (if required) need to be in destination at least three full business days prior the wedding for Civil ceremonies and two full business days for Religious ceremony.
- Only the Civil ceremony is legally recognized. A Religious ceremony has no legal bearing and does not replace in any way the binding Civil Marriage. Once the Civil Ceremony is over, the couple receives a copy of the marriage licence and the original is sent within 5 - 6 months directly to your home (please note that the Mexican Government can take longer to send these documents). Once the documents are received you should translate them into English and take them to City Hall for legalization.
- Religious ceremonies or Renewal of Vows are symbolic. They are performed by a Non-Denominational Minister. The bride and groom will receive a symbolic marriage certificate without legal bearing.
*Please note that in Mexico Riu does not arrange Catholic ceremonies, a non-denominational minister is used. - Room upgrades are to the next level above your booked room, however upgrades are subject to availability and not guaranteed.
- In order to have a wedding at Riu Hotels & Resorts, the couple and at least 80 percent of the total number of wedding guests must stay at the hotel where the wedding will be performed, otherwise it will be canceled. This is a strict RIU policy.
