Grand Case guests can relax on the beach, swim in the freshwater pool which overlooks the ocean, or head to the water sports center for boating, scuba diving, snorkeling and deep sea fishing. They can also arrange waterskiing, wakeboarding, banana boating and tubing right on the hotel's beach. Snorkeling excursions to a rocky island just off the shore and glass-bottom boat trips are also available. Guests enjoy complimentary snorkeling gear, kayaks, small sailboats, paddle boats and float mats, and have use of one artificial grass tennis court available for both day and night play at no charge (equipment rental is extra).
So Much to Do...So Many Beaches to See
For those who want to experience the natural beauty of the island on foot, there are 25 miles of clearly defined footpaths running through the mountains and along the shore. There is one 18-hole golf course on the Dutch side of the island at Mullet Bay, and the course is open to all visitors with advance tee time reservations required.
St. Martin is famous for its beaches - great in number and all distinctively different. Beaches on the French side tend to be more secluded. The beach at Grand Case, however, is alive with local culture due to its proximity to the village of Grand Case, and is a favorite with families. Orient Bay is a particularly enticing area because of its wide expanse of beach, its underwater marine reserve with a coral reef perfect for snorkeling, the vast number of water sports available and the nude beach located on one end of Orient Beach. Attitudes toward topless sunbathing are fairly relaxed in St. Martin.
Shop 'til You Drop
Duty-free shopping is one of the great attractions of the island. Guests will find luxury items from all over the world free of all taxes and customs fees regularly offered at bargain prices. Shopping is one activity you won't want to miss!
